Lord of The Flies

We had time to catch up with the author of the Lord of The Flies he had some interesting answer to some interesting questions

Q:Where did you get the idea for Lord of the Flies?

A:One night I was just lying in bed and I started dreaming about what would happen if a group of kids stranded on a deserted island and it inspired me to write a book.

Q:Was Piggy in any way related to the pigs head?

A:No. It is just because is overweight so the children decided that Piggy would be a suitable nickname.

Q:Was the title picture what you planned for the front of the book?

A:One of the kids talks to the pig head and people start to believe that he is going crazy. The blood coming out of the pigs mouth signifies death within the island

Q:Do you think that there is a possibility for a sequal to an already awesome book?

A:Unless I have another dream for a sequal I am not sure if i will be able to come up with a good enough story line for the second book.

As Mr. Golding explained this book is his idea if a group of children were stranded on a deserted island and having to depend on themselves.

Book Review

I would recommend this book if you were interested to know what a group of kids would do if they were stranded on a remote island with little food,  supplies or much of anything else for that matter. There is no parental supervision so the children must learn to depend on each other to support and protect.

My overall rating of this book would be a 9 out of 10 because I have never read anything as original as this book. I also like the sense of adventure. The main idea of the book that i think the author is trying to get across is teamwork and very good decision making are key aspects to any personality.

My first impression of the book was that it would be  a cakewalk for them to be rescued of the island without dying or having any injuries. It turns out that insanity start to take toll after a while and they start getting desperate which includes even killing each other.
